Prior to the 21st annual FRAM Autolite NHRA Nationals NHRA Funny Car driver Ashley Force had the opportunity to sit down in-studio with KGO 810 AM host Ronn Owens for an in-depth interview in the largest news-talk radio station in San Francisco. The interview was both educational and entertaining for Owens as the always likeable Force brought him up to speed on what drag racing is, how she handles her 8,000 hp Castrol GTX Ford Mustang, and what fans can expect when they come to Infineon Raceway this weekend.
"It was great to talk with Ronn about the FRAM Autolite Nationals as well as all the awesome aspects of the NHRA POWERade Series. I knew this was the first real conversation about drag racing he and many of his listeners might be having so I tried to use a lot of general terms," said current cover subject of Autoweek magazine. "I caught myself once when I was talking about doing a burnout and I realized a burnout is easy for me to understand but a lot of people would need some more explanation."
Force was the first drag racer to be interviewed by Owens and she left a lasting impression on the host. The live interview extended for a full hour and took a number of call-ins from interested listeners across the greater San Francisco area. Every phone line was lit up with anxious callers the entire time Ashley Force was available.
At the conclusion of Ashley's interview KGO 810 AM received word that they were once again voted by their viewers as the most listened to radio station in the Bay Area extending their unprecedented streak as the No. 1 station in San Francisco to 30 years in a row.
